July At a meeting of the Town Council an amendment was moved and seconded that the minute recommending ‘certain’ amendments to stopping places on various sections of the tramway, should be referred back to the Electricity & Tramways Committee for modification so far as the omission of the Leyland Street stop was concerned. The remainder of the changes were adopted. The Electricity & Tramways Committee met and the Tramway Manager submitted an award by the Committee on Production dated July 9 th giving all able bodied men in the Tramway Department over the age of twenty one a War Bonus of 25 shillings per week in place of the 20 shillings (£1) currently being paid. A communication was received from the Amalgamated Association of Tramway & Vehicle Workers asking the Council to back-date the award of 25/- to May 25 th last and this was given effect accordingly. August The Electricity & Tramways Committee met when the Borough Treasurer submitted the following accounts for the Tramway Department for the financial year ending March 31 st , 1918.
