CHURCH GROUNDS 10:30am | 11:00am | 12:30pm Live performance from 1940s singers Christopher and the Robins. 1:00pm Special war re-enactment to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day including an appearance from a “Mad Piper” from Accrington Pipe Band – to take place in the grounds of St James’ Church. 1:20pm Lone piper from the world famous Accrington Pipe Band closes the war re-enactment. 3:00pm 4th Live Cooking Demonstration with Molly Robbins.

BROADWAY and MAIN STAGE STARS

Glynn Purnell

Michelin star chef, author and host of Saturday Kitchen Glynn Purnell will headline the main stage! Also known as “The Yummy Brummie”, Glynn won the fi rst Michelin star in Birmingham, and owns three restaurants in the Midlands. Glynn has also won two series’ of Great British Menu and hosted and appeared on Saturday Kitchen.

Star of Net fl ix’s Extreme Cake Makers, Molly Robbins, returns to the Accrington Food & Drink Festival for the third year running as compére. Molly will also be decorating a special commemorative cake for Hyndburn Borough Council’s 50th anniversary, as well as showcasing her cake decorating skills!

Paul Fox

Also returning to the main stage this year is local chef and owner of The Crafty Fox, Paul Fox. Paul will complete a stellar line-up on the main stage, cooking a special dish which visitors to the event can sample following the cooking demonstration.

Brie Mine will be based next to the main stage with their brand new cheese ‘pic n mix’, so you can buy a nibble while watching the cooking demonstrations!

The Arndale will also host a special giveaway at 2pm in commemoration of the famous Candy Bomber. Popular local estate agents Pendle Hill Properties will be handing out 250 Hershey bars and 250 parachute men to commemorate the Candy Bomber, Col. Gail Seymour Halvorsen, an American pilot who gained fame for dropping candy to German children during the Berlin airlift of 1948.

WWII JEEP ON DISPLAY INSIDE THE ARNDALE

A WWII jeep will also be on display inside the Arndale, don’t forget to come and take a picture!

WAR RE ENACTMENT Our WWII D-Day 80th anniversary commemoration will take place at 1pm in the St James’ Church grounds, Cannon St. Featuring a performance from a Lone Piper from the world famous Accrington Pipe Band, the re-enactment will showcase a battle between the Germans and the Americans including parachutes draping from trees, an incredible machine gun nest plus military vehicles and many surprises along the way.

THERE WILL ALSO BE A SPECIAL APPEARANCE FROM THE “MAD PIPER” NEW FOR 2024
