Excellent customer service skills are important for hundreds of job roles in many different sectors. Wherever you work and no matter what job you do, making sure you provide the best possible service in a friendly manner can set you and your company apart from the competition. If you’re a ‘people person’, have good communication skills, are positive, professional and a good listener, this route could be for you!
Customer Service will allow you to further develop your skills which will be valuable to employers in a wide range of sectors from travel, retail, finance, health care and childcare, to engineering, business, hospitality and catering. With a range of different sectors comes a range of different customers, all of which require a high quality service. Your day-to-
day tasks could be anything from processing sales, orders and payments, to fixing problems and arranging after care services. These customer interactions may be carried out face-to-face, over the phone, via email or even through social media platforms. The standard of your delivery will influence the customer experience and their satisfaction with your organisation.
