July The Transport Committee met on the 8 th , when the Borough Engineer reported that he would shortly begin to remove the redundant tram tracks which remained on Burnley Road. It was resolved the Town Clerk should issue advertisements inviting offers for these rails, and that the Chairman, Vice-Chair along with the town’s officials would be empowered to deal with them. September The Borough Engineer reported the Chairman and Vice-Chair had accepted a tender from George Cohen & Sons of Sheffield, for the purchase of the following items - Rolled steel rails @ £3 – 12s – 6d per ton.
