The ‘Special’ Sub-Committee consisting of Alderman Ellis (Chairman) along with Councillors Latham and O’Connor, considered the question of the fares charged on the Clayton-le-Moors service, along with the abandonment of the tramway on this section. They indicated what they thought would be the frequency and the fare table of the new omnibus service when it was put into operation. A schedule was produced which gave a comparison between the present tramway service and its replacement bus service as follows –
