Welcome to the 35th Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival! Welcome to Colne and to a very special Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival as we celebrate 35 years of bringing outstanding live music to our town. Since 1990, the festival has grown into one of the UK's best-loved blues events, welcoming visitors from across the country while remaining a huge source of pride for our community. It's been another memorable year, with the festival winning its third UK Blues Federation Award, our second in a row, securing a place in the UK Blues Hall of Fame. It's a fantastic achievement and a credit to everyone who has helped shape the festival over the years. I'd also like to thank our principal sponsor, Barnfield Construction, for their continued support since 2014. Their backing has been instrumental in the festival's success, and it's especially fitting that they celebrate their own 50th anniversary this year. Congratulations to everyone at Barnfield. I'm delighted to welcome back the Pendle Hippodrome and the Fort Vale-sponsored Little Theatre, while The Muni Theatre returns for the first time since 2022. With Walter Trout, a special tribute to Rod Mayall and The Official Fringe filling 17 venues with live music, there's plenty to enjoy.
