22:45 – 23:45: Gerry McAvoy’s Band of Friends Formed in 2012 by legendary bassist Gerry McAvoy, Band of Friends is a powerful celebration of Rory Gallagher’s enduring legacy. Gerry, who played on every Rory album from 1971–1991, is joined by fellow Rory bandmate Brendan O’Neill (drums), forming one of blues rock’s tightest rhythm sections. Guitarist Paul Rose, handpicked by Rory in a Fender competition, brings raw authenticity, while Jim Kirkpatrick (FM) adds soulful vocals and technical brilliance. Together, they deliver electrifying performances that honour Rory’s spirit with power, passion, and heart. More than a tribute, it’s a living, breathing continuation of one of rock’s most iconic legacies.
