The Great British R&B Festival 2024

MAIN VENUES THE LITTLE THEATRE

ACOUSTIC STAGE

SATURDAY 24TH AUGUST

1:30pm – 2:30pm Dave Arcari SLIDE guitarist & songwriter Dave Arcari’s alternative blues sounds owe as much to trash country, punk and rockabilly as they do pre-war Delta blues and have been showcased via seven internationally acclaimed solo album releases. A finalist in the UK Blues Federation’s UK Blues Awards 2023, Arcari has had his music featured in numerous BBC TV programmes as well as the popular USA series The Deadliest Catch. The ultimate validation for Arcari’s music and performance came in 2019 when National Reso-Phonic Guitars launched the ‘Dave Arcari signature model guitar.’ Arcari joins an elite and exclusive group of players who have signature models and is the first – and only – musician outside the USA to be honoured by the iconic instrument maker whose name is synonymous with the development of the blues genre.

3:00pm – 4:00pm Pat Clarke & Mickey Van Gelder

Pat Clarke (harmonica) and Mickey Van Gelder (guitar) first played together nearly 20 years ago now. They play and sing the Blues, their biggest influence being Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee. Their repertoire includes songs recorded by Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Boy Fuller, Memphis Slim and Little Brother Montgomery as well as original tunes rooted in a vintage style. Pat & Mickey have played together on the acoustic stage at Colne twice before and are delighted to be back playing to a knowledgeable and appreciative audience of Blues lovers.
