Her voice; tender, urgent, gritty, blurring the distinction between pleasure and pain, mixed with the enchantingly fluent guitar work of Paul Farr, inspired bass playing of Danny Blomeley and in-the-pocket drumming of Mark Warburton, combine to make a unique and powerful, often joyous, always emotional experience. Performing as part of a very special tribute to the late Victor Brox, this is your chance to see one of the very best soul-blues singers the British Isles has ever produced.

9:30pm - 10:30pm Chantel McGregor The Blues came calling first for Chantel McGregor, but Rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a “great voice, but girls don’t play guitar like that!” Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s Musician of the Year award. After years of touring and festival appearances, Chantel returned with a vengeance with ten new songs that not only salute contemporary rock, but show her gradual transition from conventional Blues to a harder, bigger, and bolder rock sound with progressive influences.

11:00pm - 12:00am Dom Martin & Band Dom Martin is a multi-award winning Irish guitarist, hailed by many as the successor to the legendary blues/rock artists Rory Gallagher and fellow Belfast man Gary Moore. Dom has won multiple awards for his acoustic work with a 2019 European award, UK awards in 2020/2021/2022 and as a result is now an inductee in the UK Blues Hall of Fame. He is equally adept on electric with his power trio, having won the UK Blues Awards Best Instrumentalist Award 2022 & 2023. The trio is always an extremely popular addition to any blues/rock festival and we can’t wait to welcome them back to Colne after an incredible performance in 2023.

2:00pm - 3:00pm The Mike Ross Band Kerrang! called Mike Ross “Burnt in Blues, Soaked in Soul!” — a description that holds true of Mike’s multiple facets: songwriting, multi-instrumental talents, gritty riff-busting, yet eloquent, guitarist and also his vocals, all of which come to the fore on his latest solo releases. He’s a proud DIY artist too, who writes, performs, records, produces & releases his own music. Mike Ross’s material proves him to be a man you can rely on to conjure up fuzz-charged Heavy Blues and powerful Rock, to make his guitar soar and sing, and to deliver smart-as-a-whip lyrics. Spinning rock, blues, soul and country into an intoxicating blend (reminiscent of the calm virtuosity of the Allman Brothers combined with the wild abandon of Rory Gallagher), Mike and his band are an unstoppable force of nature and an unforgettable live act.

But it’s truly magical when he sings the blues especially when backed by the stunning musicianship of his band featuring Jacob Beckwith on guitar, Rory Wells on bass, Sam Bolt on keys and Zebedee Sylvester on drums. Expect soaring soulful vocals over vibey guitar and piano-orientated blues. Backed by her song-writing partner and husband the Zombie-like Tim Carley, who churns out blues-tinged rhythms on an old archtop guitar, kick drum and rattlin’ shoe, with fellow fiend James Le Huray providing the final ingredients of the spell, in the shape of double bass and banjo.

The Adam Sweet Band features: Garry Kroll on drums, Paddy Blight on bass and Thomas Hughes on Hammond organ.

SUNDAY 25TH AUGUST

2:00pm – 4:30pmThe Lonnie Donegan Story The exceptionally talented Warren James sings The Lonnie Donegan Story, which celebrates the founding father of British rock, blues and pop music – for without Lonnie Donegan and the Skiffle Craze then there would be no Beatles, no Rolling Stones, no Van Morrison, no Eric Clapton, no Folk Revival, no Blues Revival, no 60s Beat Boom, for everyone of those artists started musical life in a Skiffle Group – prior to skiffle kids did not make their own music and black American music was completely unheard of. featuring Lee Hall on Guitar/Vocals & renowned Blues drummer Lucy Piper. Cooked to perfection using a traditional recipe passed down through the generations, spicy & delicate juicy flavours, all-natural, organic and fresh ingredients.

The duo pay their dues to old blues masters: RL Burnside, John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson and many more. They have already played many of the UK’s leading Blues festivals, grabbing admirers. With Lee’s unique haunting vocals, energetic slide playing, and Lucy’s infectious hypnotic drumming, it’s the blues baby! They definitely bring the boogie! 7:00pm – 8:00pm DC Blues Recently making the Top 20 nominees for Best Emerging Band at the 2024 UK Blues Federation awards, DC Blues have received several reviews in Blues Matters Magazine who stated “Hard bluesin’ at its best! 8:30pm – 9:30pm Bison Hip Bison Hip were formed by

long-time friends during a lockdown Zoom call in 2020. The band are all over 50, with the exception of keyboard player and spring chicken Steven, who clocks in at a youthful 40. By the time they finally got together in early 2021, the blueprint was clear. “We wanted to take our love of blues and rock, and mix up with our experiences of life” adds Paul. “Between us, we’ve been through so many things in life, ups and downs, some successes and plenty of failures, we wanted all that in the music. We needed to wrap it up in the DNA of our hometown, Glasgow, and hopefully that’s what we’ve achieved”. The ethos is clear: real musicians, real instruments, no click tracks, culminating in a unique blues rock sound with real life stories. With the release of their debut EP ‘Dear Greens and Blues’ in March 2022, Bison Hip have hit the ground running.

10:00pm – 11:00pm Ashley Sherlock Band Ashley Sherlock is a Manchester-based

singer/songwriter citing his inspirations as Jeff Buckley, The Marcus King Band, The Cadillac Three, Gary Clark Jr and Chris Stapleton. Working alongside producer Kenneth Nixon (of Framing Hanley fame) Ashley’s material,

recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, presents a modern outlook on the sound of the deep south; combined with his fantastic vocal range and songwriting style. After several years, and hundreds of gigs performed as a solo artist, Ashley Sherlock formed a blues-rock trio. A fantastic blend of gritty blues, falsetto vocal melodies and a dynamic rhythm section creates a unique sound. Since then, the band have received nominations for the UK Blues Awards, toured with international artists and have been featured on popular radio stations.

Inspired by the likes of The 2024 Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival will welcome a brand new venue… The Little Theatre Acoustic Stage. Transformed by a recent development project, the stunning new venue is more than ready to host a fantastic weekend of live music, with 15 performances across three days.
