9:15pm The Errol Linton Band ‘The Greatest British Blues Performing Artist’ – Cerys Matthews Ever since John Walters declared Errol Linton the 'future of British Blues' back in 1993 this Brixton born gentleman has been plying his trade and perfecting his art at home and across the world. Errol has also produced several albums; the last two studio albums in collaboration with Brassdog records are his first on vinyl. 'Packing My Bags' ('Chess Records meets Studio One') recorded at world famous Dean St Studios and 'No Entry' recorded at the equally iconic Toerag Studios have been great critical successes for Errol and his band.

Atomic Rooster are flying high again and are looking forward to landing in Colne for the debut appearance at the festival.

SATURDAY 27th AUGUST

2:15pm The Animals and Friends Bruce Springsteen recently revealed on stage in the USA that it was The Animals, not The Beatles or the Stones who were his favourite British invasion band. Now in his 80’s founding member John Steel is still the foundation block of The Animals and along with his bluesy band mates are performing their last global outing throughout 2022/23. You really don’t want to miss this.

4pm The Verity Bromham Rockin Blues Band John Verity and Del Bromham, frontmen from Argent and Stray come together to play their favourite rock classics. Unmissable! 5:45pm The Rebecca Downes Band You know that trick you can do with a fresh bottle of Cola and you drop a mint in and it explodes in a frothy fountain…. Well, take a really hot, tight R&B band forged from incredibly talented musicians and front it with Rebecca Downes and the effect is much the same – an explosion of soul tinged blues from the days when R&B rocked the world. Rebecca is doing things her way; taking the music back to its raw basics; touching the same vibe that Ike & Tina had when it was more about the music than the relationship. In perfect synchronicity with writing partner & band leader Steve Birkett, Rebecca’s take on the blues is not to merely tell about what brings her down, but to almost celebrate that what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.

7:30pm The Ric Lee Band What do you get if you cross one of the greatest British drummers of all time with an amazing international band? Simple – The Ric Lee Band. Heading to Colne comes blues rock titan Ric Lee along with former Groundhogs, Peter Green and Savoy Brown keyboard player Bob Hall. New Yorker Roberto Ruiz and Lancashire born Danny Handley complete this all-star cast. This will be one of the highlights of your life.

9:15pm FM Having toured with the likes of Tina Turner, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Status Quo and Whitesnake since their formation in 1984, these guys need no introduction. After returning from a 12-year sabbatical in 2007, FM haven’t looked back, and with tours and albums aplenty, they are looking forward to rocking the night away in the milltown of Colne.

11pm Miguel Montalban & The Southern Vultures “One of the greatest young guitarists around" (Zack Wilde) and "Miguel Montalban one of the finest young buskers in London" (Rod Stewart) are just two of the glowing reviews for this young star. His cover version of “Sultans of Swing” has become viral on YouTube with over 20 million views. In 2021 he launched "and the Southern Vultures" turning into a southern blues rock vibe with vintage tones. You don’t want to miss this one!

SUNDAY 28th AUGUST

2:15pm Gerry McAvoy’s Band of Friends – The Rory Gallagher Band

A once in a lifetime chance to see Rory Gallagher's former band. Way back in 1970 Gerry McAvoy and Rory Gallagher teamed up and forged a very successful partnership spanning over two decades. The results are testament to one of the most loved guitarists of all time. Gerry was with Rory all along the way. Due to amazing public demand Gerry put together 'A Band of Friends' to reperform all the classic songs he enjoyed alongside Rory.

At The Muni, we will give you a chance to revisit the great catalogue of songs that we all know and love. Gerry (Bass Guitar) played, recorded and toured with Rory for 20 years, from 1970 to 1991.

4pm Geno Washington Farewell Tour One of the godfathers of blues n soul will be making a farewell concert appearance at Colne this year. Marking an amazing seven decade run in the music business. Initially stationed in England for the Air Force during the early '60s, American soul shouter Geno Washington fronted a group known as the Ram Jam Band for a series of moderate U.K. chart hits during 1966-1967.

Geno stayed in England after his release from the Air Force, and the band earned notice around the south east for an infectious live show that packed dozens of up-tempo R&B/soul nuggets into half-hour. Washington earned his only number one hit (of a sort), when Dexys Midnight Runners took the tribute track "Geno" to the top of the charts. Another gem for Colne 2022.

5:45pm Connie Lush & Friends Farewell Gig 2022 marks Connie Lush’s farewell to the live touring scene for the foreseeable future. One of the greatest voices of the British blues scene… Do not miss this final performance! After bursting onto the scene making her debut at The Great British R&B Festival, she has never looked back. Connie has been recognised as one of the finest blues singers in the UK today. The winner of “Best Female Vocalist UK” no less than five times has earned Connie her place in the gallery of greats, alongside Alexis Corner and Eric Clapton to name just two. Her incredible stage presence and powerful vocal have also been recognised overseas as she was twice voted “European Blues Vocalist of the year” by the “Blues Trophies Awards.”

SUNDAY 28th AUGUST

7:30pm King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys One of the bands that performed on the very first 1990 R&B festival at Colne is back 32 years later. Dazzling musicianship, riveting stage performances, more than 50 TV appearances and 75 radio broadcasts have established them as the Kings of Swing. The King and the Boys have built themselves the kind of fan base that aspiring pop stars would kill for. Everywhere they go they hook more devotees. They’ve played all over Europe. Even more impressively, they’ve stormed across the US, much to the surprise of the natives. As one New York magazine put it: ‘Those who say that swing is a musical form best left to Americans, prepare to be proven wrong. This British combo is bullet proof!’

9:15pm Nine Below Zero Intense hard driving classic British R&B will be pounding the Pennines on this one.

Over 40 years since Nine Below Zero first offered a rhythm & blues alternative to the punk-pop of the mainstream, the south Londoners, with founding members Dennis Greaves and Mark Feltham still in residence, announce their ‘Are We There Yet?’ tour. With a reputation as “one of the best blues bands around today” for their scintillating live performances, this tour will not disappoint – expect a fearsome, supercharged set from start to finish.

11pm Ian Siegal presents B.L.U.E.S. In more than a quarter century of touring, multi-award winner Ian Siegal's mission statement has barely changed: songs that are real, shows that resonate, vocals served raw. Today he is considered by many to be the most compelling British blues artist since the great names of the sixties. Classic Rock tags Siegal "a national treasure," America's blues bible says "vast talent" and MOJO magazine ranks him "the cleverest writer and most magnetic blues performer in the UK." He has taken his music to some 50 countries and presided over a trophy haul that includes two UK Blues Awards, 10 British Blues Awards, four European Blues Awards, two Mojo Blues Albums Of The Year not to mention three US Blues Music Awards nominations - an unprecedented nod for a non-American. They say you can't sing the blues until you've lived the life, and when Ian Siegal steps up to the mic, you can hear the slings and arrows. His forte is playing to an audience. He takes command of the stage in a way very few artists alive today can match. Sweat, passion, humour, incendiary slide guitar and a soul-infused voice big enough to fell trees!

11pm Full House performs Frankie Miller There’s a county blues, Mississippi Delta and bluegrass air about the song writing style of big-voiced Scottish blues singer and guitarist Andrew Robert Eustace. As just about every rock fan worth his blues-soul salt knows, Frankie Miller’s devastating but fortunately not life ending brain haemorrhage in 1994 put paid to any further recording, performing or acting. But his songs are still as alive and well today as the great Scot himself is, delivered by a band that love the songs as much as the fans.

12:20pm Thomas Atlas Thomas Atlas is a British guitarist, singer and songwriter. His early career saw him touring the UK and USA with soul and blues outfits before pursuing his own musical endeavours. A new line up saw a difference in direction with players from “The Brand New Heavy’s” and “The Brothers Groove” coming on board. The first glimpse into what Atlas had in store came from a series of successful YouTube videos released in 2018 under the title “Garage Funk,” resulting in a sensational response from fans and industry alike. Atlas found himself venturing out of the garage to play some of the most prestigious venues in the UK such as Ronnie Scott’s, 100 Club, The Borderline, Birmingham Town Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and a residency at Jools Holland’s Jam House. In 2019 Atlas was touring Europe, electrifying audiences with his unique style of guitar playing. Fusing roaring blues solos over his funk-laden arrangements. What a way to start your Saturday at the Pendle Hippodrome!

1:25pm Fargo Railroad Co The Fargo Railroad Co. are a southern rock / Americana inspired 4-piece band from Sheffield, UK. Established in 2013 they have already gathered a loyal fan base and continue to add to their numbers playing shows throughout the UK. What is clear is that these boys enjoy being on stage and love playing the music they are producing. They share a distinct and united love of music with a breadth of appreciation that is truly eclectic - all of this has come together to form their current sound, which has settled in the broad and deep ocean of southern rock.

2:30pm Mississippi Macdonald “It’s modern, it’s not musical archaeology,” says London

-based soul-blues stylist Mississippi MacDonald of his music. “It celebrates a fantastic tradition. It’s soul-blues, and you’ve got to put your best into it.” He’s been nominated three times in the British Blues Awards. He’s hit the top spot in the Independent Blues Broadcasters

Association’s charts. He’s had the support of Paul Jones on BBC Radio 2. He’s had the thumbs-up from Blues Magazine in The Netherlands, and from the Washington State Blues Society. So far, he has made seven albums. Together they chart his evolution as a musician and his ever-broadening musical palette. He sings and plays acoustic and electric guitar. 3:40pm Chris Bevington Organisation In 2020, Chris Bevington Organisation released their fourth album. Each album has had its own identity and no album is the same, mixing a host of blues styles under the watchful eye of Scott Ralph and Jim Kirkpatrick. All four albums have had chart success in the UK, Europe and the USA and extensive airplay in those countries and beyond. With all bands who stay together for a long time, it’s not unexpected to see the comings and goings of many band members but each one has left a positive mark and made Chris Bevington Organisation the band it is today.

8:20pm Félix Rabin He knows Los Angeles inside-out and has played in almost every club in the UK. Rabin is like those painters who need to master the most sophisticated techniques and then to come back to simplicity and its inherent purity. The only difference is that Félix Rabin is a guitarist and singer. Since the age of fifteen, he has been exploring the thousand and one things we can do with a guitar, then inventing a thousand and one more. Blues has become blues-rock, and Félix still has electricity in his fingertips. When he's not on tour, in London or Los Angeles, Félix Rabin goes home to Neuchâtel in Switzerland for a rest … and he’s just 25 years old.

This is rock blues for the new age, played by a musician born with an effortless virtuosity, peppered by flights of incendiary guitar and flanked by moments of poise, grace and fluidity.

11pm Aynsley Lister "Music is a release for me. When I play, I get lost in it. It's a very happy place to be” - Aynsley Lister. Aynsley Lister is one of the UK’s hottest contemporary blues guitarists – many consider him to be among the best in the world. His unique brand of blues-based rock delivers contemporary song writing fuelled with the kind of heart and soul that’s missing from so much modern music. Whether passionately writing and recording his own material or mesmerising audiences at his live shows, one thing is abundantly clear: music is hard-wired to his DNA and flows from his fingertips like sonic bolts of lightning. With over 100,000 albums sold, lashings of critical acclaim and years of high profile touring, Lister’s resumé speaks for itself and firmly secures his position as a leading light in the resurgence of British blues-infused music.

Blow the Sunday morning hangover away with a good dose of CCR medicine. 3:30pm The Cinelli Brothers The Cinelli Brothers is a project born out of a common passion for the electric Chicago and Texas blues from the 60s and 70s, when the two brothers, Marco and Alessandro decided to form an explosive team showcasing original repertoire in the style of Chess, Stax and Motown… Their first record “Babe Please Set Your Alarm” comprises original compositions as well as a few covers, such as ‘Chain of Fools’ or ‘Back Door Man’ – which stays true to Willie Dixon’s number, as well as Prince’s ‘Kiss’, in a remarkable shuffle rhythm. The Cinelli Brothers champion a new generation of passionate musicians sharing in the love of blues, soul, R&B and the true authentic sounds that have made the blues a cornerstone of music history. A blistering mix of blues, soul and old school R&B, The Stumble have been wowing audiences with the energy and virtuosity of their live performances for the past 20 years. Festival favourites in every corner of the UK and Europe, The Stumble are taking their creative talents to a new level with their stupendous 4th album, The Other Side. Expect raw power, emotion, joyous melodies, heart-breaking blues and a guaranteed good time with a band on the crest of a wave. Experience this band live now and be part of it.

6:30pm Willie and The Bandits Essentially Willie and the Bandits is a classic blues rock band much in the vein of Cream or The Jimi Hendrix experience. But in a similar way to how these bands pushed the genre in their time, Willie and the Bandits try to take their sound beyond what is expected of such a traditional line up. The use of more bizarre instrumentation and eclectic influences in the song writing often pushes them more into a world music or progressive category. Having toured with artists such as Deep Purple through to the John Butler Trio and played major festivals across Europe, the band seem to leave an equally astounding impression on audiences of all ages and musical backgrounds with their

energetic and soulful performances. This is a band that is very much about discovery and one best experienced live!

Female Vocalist in the 2019 European Blues Awards and semi-finalist in the International Blues Challenge 2019 and 2020, Kyla Brox is at the very top of the UK blues scene. Her voice; tender, urgent, gritty, blurring the distinction between pleasure and pain, mixed with the enchantingly fluent guitar work of Paul Farr, inspired bass playing of Danny Blomeley and in-the-pocket drumming of Mark Warburton, combine to make a unique and powerful, often joyous, always emotional experience. With thousands of albums sold and a constantly growing fanbase, Kyla Brox is widely regarded as one of the very best soul-blues singers the British Isles has ever produced.
