Our guided coach tours combine a great day out at Oswaldtwistle Mills. A chance to explore the stunning scenery of our beautiful county. Hire one of our professional tour guides who offer a wealth of knowledge covering the history and heritage of the landscape. Tours begin and end at Oswaldtwistle Mills, where your tour guide will join you on your coach. Tours last 60-90 minutes and can be booked 7 days a week throughout the year (subject to tour guide availability). You need to provide your own coach with a microphone and a spare seat for our tour guide. (Tour routes may be amended due to traffic and weather conditions.) Travelling through the beautiful Ribble Valley, we visit Ribchester, Longridge, and Chipping. Enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the valley on Jeffrey Hill before we descend passing Stonyhurst. Famous former residents include Arthur Conan Doyle and JRR Tolkien. We continue through Great Mitton before our final destination of England’s largest village, Whalley. £ 60 PER TOUR Ribble Valley Golden Valley Start this tour enjoying the stunning scenery of Turton and Edgworth, cross the moors near historical Turton Tower. Learn how Ramsbottom got its name. Passing by Haslingden and Rawtenstall onto Baxenden, catch sight of the beautiful Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington Park and tales of the Accrington Pals in WW1. In the Pendle villages of Roughlee and Barley, you’ll learn of the sad tale of those who were accused, tried and found guilty of witchcraft in 1612 in what is now one of the most famous witch trials in English history. Admire the magnificent scenery, gaze at the moody hulk of Pendle Hill and see the ‘eye of God’ in the tower of St. Mary’s Church. Pendle Witch Country Journeying across the Rivers Ribble, Calder and Hodder, this tour abounds with fascinating history, beautiful scenery and stories of times gone by. Learn of the ruined abbey at Whalley, the medieval church of St. Mary and All Saints, admire the Victorian viaduct, onto the architecture of Stonyhurst College, where Tolkien, author of “Lord of the Rings,” once resided. PLEASE NOTE: Low Bridge 12’ 6’’ Three Rivers The tour starts with a view of the magnificent Samlesbury Hall, one of the top 10 most haunted houses in England. Hoghton Tower is next, with historic connections.
