Wood Product Manufacturing Operative

Wood Product Manufacturing Operatives work in the manufacturing sector, producing wood products for the construction and furniture industries. It involves supplying products to the housing, commercial, public and building sectors. This means workplaces can range from small workshops to large state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Your role will include producing high volume, engineered products from timber for both external and interior applications, such as roofing components, windows, doors, door-sets, staircases and other timber construction items. As well as using traditional materials, you will use engineered and modified timbers, such as Accoya and Thermowood. You will cut, layout and assemble materials and, depending on the product, you may install fixtures and fittings, apply finishes and add glazing systems.
