The Retailer Apprenticeship covers the essential retail and customer service skills that employers are looking for, giving you the perfect start to your career in retail. It will allow you to further learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the retail industry. You’ll develop skills such as; organising your own work; handling stock; dispatching goods to customers; processing credit applications; managing payments; providing a range of additional retail services; providing customer service and advice; looking after different products in a retail environment; deputising. Duration 14 months. Entry requirements You will take a Skills Scan to ensure your current level of maths and English is at the required level. Assessment • Multiple choice test. • Practical observation in your workplace. • Professional discussion. Progression Successful completion of this Apprenticeship provides an ideal stepping stone into specialist, team leading, supervisory or first line management roles within retail. It also allows progression to higher level training, e.g. a Team Leader/Supervisor or Customer Service Specialist Apprenticeship at Level 3.
