above the opportunity to develop and learn important life skills, such as communication, perseverance and working as a team. As a group environment, it’s also a brilliant setting for children to socialise and build confidence. In total, there are 5 different sections, based on age groups, including Beavers, Cubs and Scouts for children aged between 6 and 14, as well as Explorer Scouts designed for teenagers, looking for a little extra adventure. The Future of St. Paul’s Discussing the future of the Scouts Group, Stephen highlighted the need for more locals to sign up as volunteers: “The only thing holding the group up right now is waiting lists. More youngsters want to sign up and get involved but there’s just not enough adult volunteers. It requires as little as an hours’ commitment a week, training is completely free, and no special skills are needed, just lots of enthusiasm. The facilities are brilliant, and all the equipment is provided, all we need is you!” “In light of this achievement, the reality is that the youth needs you to continue the legacy!” Stephen continued: “If you are interested in getting involved, reach out to me on twier or email, or you can get in touch via the scouting organization in Hyndburn.” If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or want to find out more, get in touch with Stephen on twier @axemanlowe, or alternatively email Stephen.lowe@bbc.co.uk Or visit: hps://hyndburn.realtd.co.uk/local-services/ 1st-oswaldtwistle-st-pauls-scout-group/

We are proud as punch to be representing Oswaldtwistle and Hyndburn on a national level.” This is great news for a community like Oswaldtwistle, as it demonstrates the community spirit is alive and well, still engaging and uniting all generations after so long, at last receiving the credit it deserves.” A 100-Year-Old Scout Group Having been in operation for well over 100 years, the St. Paul’s Scout Group is one of the oldest in the country, having served the Oswaldtwistle area and its youth since its founding in 1909.
