#AmazingAccrington spoke with Sharon Benson, HR Director at Studio Retail Limited, to learn more about their great workplace culture and innovative ethos.

With several years’ experience in HR, Sharon has a passion for delivering sustainable business growth, through placing colleagues and customers at the very heart of everything that Studio do. The #AmazingAccrington business has gone from strength to strength as a leading online retailer nationwide. Sharon has played an instrumental role in Studio’s transformation, focusing on developing the performance and potential of all colleagues. Studio are an established, #trusted business who know their stuff- with a promise to deliver on customer value and service. She shared the details of the transformation that Studio Retail Limited has undergone, since its establishment almost 100 years ago. “The heritage of the company goes right back to 1922, originally named Joseph Turner and then becoming Studio Gis and Cards. Since then we have grown rapidly delivering to over 1.8 million customers and offering over 20,000 products. Studio has seen continued expansion over the years, and we’re now recruiting colleagues to work at our exciting and vibrant company.” 1400 employees and a fast-paced, ever-changing, environment. Studio Retail Limited is a multi-channel online retailer, who make up 80%of turnover for Findel PLC – a British home shopping company. Originally a traditional catalogue business, the last two years have seen a digital transformation, with over 70%of the company now running online. #Amazing Studio are extremely proud to be one of the borough’s largest employers, Studio broke their own records in sales and turnover during December 2018.
