Accrington Stanley Women v Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies Reserves
We are delighted to be back here at the Wham Stadium for the second time in less than a month, as we take on Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies FC Reserves. Over 700 supporters attended our 3-1 victory against league leaders Preston North End Womens FC on Sunday 17th September. A match which was also covered live by BBC Radio Lancashire. Goals from Cara McCormick, Lily Metcalf and Millie Dooley secured the three points for Kristian Perry’s side on that occasion, and we will be looking for another bumper crowd to cheer us on as we continue our push towards the top end of the table. Ahead of the game, we also offered free tickets for supporters, as well as selling hospitality tickets, with families encouraged to come and enjoy a Sunday roast before watching the match. Chair of Accrington Stanley Women, Sami Smithson, said: “We can’t wait for another fantastic opportunity to play in front of our fans at the Wham Stadium. “We had a great turnout for our match against Preston North End at the Wham Stadium, but we want to go even better this time and I am delighted to announce that we will be offering free tickets to supporters to attend the game. “It will be a wonderful occasion once again, and we are looking forward to bringing the community together and enjoying another day to remember.”
