Plastering Level 1

Plastering Level 2

Introduction – The course covers all the elements of plastering and site work. Other related subjects include: material manufacture, mixing materials, tools and equipment, setting out and health and safety. Entry requirements – Ideally, you will have GCSEs in English and maths at grade 3 or above. Progression – Successful completion of this course will lead to the Level 2 Diploma in Plastering.

Introduction – If you want to improve your plastering skills, learning how to fix fibrous cove/cornice and apply direct bond dry-lining to solid and timber structures this course could be just right for you. The course is a mix of practical and technical learning, getting both the skills and knowledge needed to progress into plastering. We’ll teach you all the essentials of health and safety that are vital for working in construction. You’ll gain skills such as how to prepare and apply one, two and three coat plastered systems to wall and ceiling structures, set datums and wall screeds and calculate materials. You’ll also learn how to analyse data which will help set you up for a career in the construction industry. Entry requirements – You will need to have completed all aspects of your Level 1 Plastering study programme and have GCSEs at grade D/3 or above in English and maths. You will need to attend a College interview and complete an initial assessment. Progression – Successful completion of the Level 2 study programme could lead to the Level 3 Diploma in Plastering or ideally into an apprenticeship.

Applicants who have not achieved at least a grade C/4 in English and maths will continue to study these subjects alongside their chosen college course.
