Introduction – The course covers all the elements of brickwork and site work. Other related subjects include brick manufacture, bonding, mortar and mixing, tools and equipment, setting out, concrete, drainage and health and safety. Entry requirements – Ideally, you will have GCSEs in English and maths at grade 3 or above. Progression – Successful completion of this course will lead to the Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying.

Introduction – The course covers all aspects of complex and decorative brickwork, setting out, cutting and shaping of brickwork and site studies including, planning, site organisation and building regulations. Entry requirements – You will need to have completed your Level 1 Diploma and Functional Skills in English and maths. Progression – Successful completion of this course will lead to the Level 3 Diploma in Bricklaying.

Introduction – This course involves three days of study a week. The course will give learners the opportunity to engage in learning which will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance

Introduction – This course involves three days of study a week. The course will give learners the opportunity to engage and develop their skills that they gained from the previous Level 1 learning. Typically, site carpentry learners will construct roofs, build stud walls and fit skirting boards etc. Bench joinery is manufacturing timber products such as windows, doors and stairways, as well as developing skills and attributes essential for a successful career in the Construction Industry. Entry requirements – The Level 2 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery Study Programmes is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in site carpentry or bench joinery. You must have English and maths at Grade 9-3/A*-D or successfully completed all aspects of your previous Level 1 Carpentry and Joinery study programme. You will need to have completed Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery and have GCSEs at grade 3 or above in English and maths. You will need to attend a College interview and complete an initial assessment. Progression – Successful completion of this Level 2 Study Programme qualification can lead ideally to an apprenticeship.

You must have English and maths at GCSE grade 3 or above and you will be expected to attend a college interview. Progression – Successful completion of this Level 1 Diploma qualification can lead to a place on a whole range of the Colleges Level 1 or Level 2 Diploma programmes.

Applicants who have not achieved at least a grade C/4 in English and maths will continue to study these subjects alongside their chosen college course.
