The Ministry of Supply, ‘Austerity’ locomotives initially carried War Department numbers and details of these and the dates of renumbering are as follows. 90266 (77378 to March 1949), it was on loan to the Great Western Railway for a period beginning in April 1947 at Reading Shed. 90374 (78568 to October 1949), it operated out of St Margaret’s Sheds in Edinburgh from new.
